Don’t be fooled by the calendar. There are only as many days in the year as you make use of. ~Charles Richards
Life is a series of minutes, hours and days that are all strung together to make a week, a month and to equal a year, a decade and eventually a century. As we move through these segments we search to find meaning, relief from boredom or pain, the joy of earthly comforts and inner satisfaction. We look for ways to express ourselves by exposing our spirit. We search for the things that will make our life’s journey easier.
Everyone’s bliss is different, each of our circumstances are really ours alone. We maintain a daily routine or fight not to have one. We explore our interests, embrace whatever opportunities we can, when we can, and meet our challenges or try to run from them. We experience losses and changes in our identities, become better people or turn into downright scoundrels. Our moods and thought patterns rule our behaviors. At times we feel anxious and lonely, and just as quickly, we are ecstatic and overjoyed. In our lives, we have come to understand that there are no absolutes.
Most of us take the small incremental issues far too seriously. We are impatient and distracted, tense and uptight. We release our emotions, vent our anger or rage on someone about something much too soon.
Life is a universal experience we all share, and yet, it seems we are each on our own. It has its rich moments most of which we miss and are utterly crushed when we realize how much time we have wasted when we begin to age. Thank goodness there is always tomorrow if we flittered away today!
