I say thank goodness for the people who live with spirit and imagination and who are madly in love with life. How can we not applaud those among us who dedicate themselves to living their lives to the fullest? They inspire us to enjoy every work of art and the melody and rhythm of most music. They savor every morsel of good food, the bouquet of fine wines and recognize the majesty of a stunning sunrise. They always stop to linger a while when they see something that speaks to their soul.
Connoisseurs of life have a way about them that is consistent with a natural rhythm of life. They are tuned into nature and live harmoniously within the perimeters of their terrain – admiring the sky, the soil, water and wind; they are in perfect consciousness with earth’s laws. They know that nothing is forever and that change in life is inevitable. They worship neither their prosperity, nor, do they feel a need to live without what they consider life’s essentials. Many believe that wealth and status are enormous distractions.
To a connoisseur life is all about living in the moment which they acknowledge is fleeting. They have a special way of dealing with the dark reflections of their troubles. They rarely break down under the weight of their cares and are hardly ever ruffled for more than brief periods because they always raise high above their fears and frustrations. Connoisseurs of life refuse to wallow for too long in self-pity regardless of what saddens them. Unhappiness is something they have come to realize will not last indefinitely unless they let it do so. Fortune gives people the means by which to be happy, but connoisseurs know how to generate their own form of happiness and it is not dependent on any one thing or on any one person but on themselves.
They work hard and play even harder and rarely fall into bed from exhaustion regardless of how many activities they participate in during the day. To us their energy seems boundless and when they do sleep they do so for physical and mental relaxation only, which they manage to get plenty of. They are passionate about everything they do investing every ounce of effort they can possibly muster up.
To the casual observer connoisseurs of life look the same as everyone else but if we take a moment to interface with them we quickly notice that their world is a sensory of self-discovery. They delve into everything with their strength of mind and heart, interpreting life as precious present that deserves to be consciously cherished; an adventurous journey that constantly delights them with many unexpected pleasures.
They reflect an abiding curiosity about everything and everyone they come in contact with and each day leads to their greater knowledge of the world around them. They welcome personal change and transformation and make it a point to be who they wish to be. They are all about being blissful and feeling beautiful in their bodies. Connoisseurs make it daily ritual to practice calm control, contemplation and to partake in visualization. They are compelling story tellers – quickly capturing our attention by the colorful words and vibrant images they use to express their thoughts and deepest of feelings.
Connoisseurs make great friends because they are both considerate and respectful of the interests of others. No one ever has to make a passionate appeal to get their aid when misfortunes befall them. They are always raring to go to be there to help when their help is needed. They steadily fulfill their promises to the best of their ability – to their family, their friends and to their colleagues, who come to, over time, depend upon them with absolute certainty. Their loyalty is not based on the potential usefulness of acquaintances or close associates. They surround themselves with people who they are glad to be in the company of because they truly enjoy their companionship and because they honestly revere them.
Connoisseurs of life espouse a kind of philosophy we associate with free spirits. They choose to live exceptional lives rather than merely exist. They find numerous ways to gain the sustenance they need to not just survive but to navigate through the discovery of self and throughout their lives marvel at all that surrounds them. They are a real treasure to all of us who know them and love them.
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt within the heart.
